Message from the mayor

It is a pleasure to welcome the Absa Cape Epic back to Cape Town.

This event has been one of the flagships in the Cape Town calendar and over the last decade plus has become a bucket list event for mountain bike enthusiasts.

In the face of all that has happened over the last two years, the world’s premier mountain bike stage race has shown extreme grit and adaptability.

The Absa Cape Epic shares the same resilience as Cape Town, which has shown that it is open for business and able to host international events safely during the pandemic.

With proven health and safety measures in place, we are thrilled to host you in Cape Town and we hope you will take time out to explore some of our city’s spectacular sites, cultural diversity and rich history.

Cape Town is ready to show off its magnificent mountain bike trails and cyclist-friendly infrastructure.

Good luck, safe riding, and enjoy the adventure in our beautiful Mother City.
