How to Secure Your Spot
in the 21st Absa Cape Epic
Enter the Lottery for 2025 Absa Cape Epic entries. The next round of lottery will be drawn on the 31st of May 2024 and if you are selected you will be eligible to enter the 21st edition of the race, which is set to take place from the 16th to the 23rd of March next year.
There are three primary ways to enter the Absa Cape Epic. Limited early bird entries go on sale on the Monday after each race and once again the 2025 early bird entries were sold out almost instantaneously. That leaves two opportunities for would-be entrants to secure a spot for next year’s race.
The first is to enter the lottery draw. Riders can secure a spot in the draw by visiting the race website, www.epic-series.com/capeepic or by clicking here. The first round of lottery entries was drawn on the 28th of March and the second round draw will take place on the 31st of May. Teams who earned an entry via the lottery will have until the end of June to make payment for their 2025 Absa Cape Epic entry. Riders who were unsuccessful in the lottery draw can sign up for the waiting list to receive entries on a first-come first-served basis should lottery winners not take up their entry, or should an already registered team defer to the 2026 event.
The second means of securing an entry is to earn a slot via an Epic Series event. 4Islands Croatia, Andorra Epic Pyrenees, and the SPAR Swiss Epic all provide the opportunity to secure an entry via category performance or in a post-event lottery draw. Should you be taking part in any of those Legend status Epic Series events be sure to sign up for the in-event Absa Cape Epic lottery draw too.
The final, very limited, way to secure an Absa Cape Epic entry is to ride for one of the race’s official charities. Visit the official charity page on the race website, or click here, to find out more about each of the organisations who raise funds through the race every year. You can then reach out to them to see if they have entries available for 2025 which you could purchase at a premium, in order to aid in their fundraising efforts.
