Unpredictable weather has become the norm at the Absa Cape Epic. Ciovita is here to help you combat the elements with their range of gear that’s been proven across the world during the Epic Series.

Sub-zero mornings. Blistering afternoons. Gale force winds. Torrential rain. All in 24 hours.

At the Absa Cape Epic, the weather is as much of a factor as the trails, the distance, and the climbing. But you can train for the trails, you can train for the distance, and you can train for the climbing.

You can only be prepared to deal with the elements. Come rain or shine.

Ciovita’s range of gear has been tried and tested across the world, worn with pride by the world’s best mountain bikers at the Epic Series events, and put on trial by the most dedicated amateurs on a daily basis. The kit boasts the latest advancements in fit and fabrication, from Italian lycra to the latest high tech trims to ensure that every garment perfectly blends form and function, and in no place is that more important than The Untamed African MTB Race.

Tackling the Absa Cape Epic and its elements requires being prepared for the task at hand; Ciovita has the kit to help you through whatever the weather gods can muster.

The Apex bib shorts represent the pinnacle of high performance cycling kit and employ the latest in cycling technology combined with hundreds of hours of testing and refinement to produce kit that pushes boundaries. The Apex Bib Shorts are one of the best examples of this philosophy in action. Each Bib is created using Advanced Recycled Performance Lycra with a 4-way stretch offering unparalleled manoeuvrability, while also maintaining the elasticity and integrity of the garment.

Designed for performance. Featuring a new proprietary multi panel design, the main body of the Supremo bib is designed to stay in place while still offering you the range of movement required to change position on the saddle. The eco conscious, recycled fabric features advanced moisture wicking properties, ensuring optimal moisture control - even in the most trying conditions.

A cycling jersey that embodies power and energy. The New Apex H1 Flyweight Jersey is the culmination of months of research, development and testing in some of the toughest and most competitive conditions on earth. The design of the H1 has been inspired by the leader jerseys developed for the Global Epic Series of Mountain Bike events and represents the leading edge of high performance cycling apparel.

Made with ultra-lightweight fabrics the Tinta Flyweight Jersey is built for performance, for riders pushing themselves to go further and faster. The Tinta boasts technical features such as mesh insets on the shoulders, sleeves and down the sides of the jersey to allow for maximum airflow when the mercury rises.

Top Tip: Produced in a variety of colours, the Tinta offers the ideal base for customisation using Ciovita’s quick-turnaround Vinyl transfer option.

A baselayer is one of the most important garments for dealing with the conditions. Ciovita’s dri-release fabric dries four times faster than cotton and wicks moisture from your skin so that it evaporates rapidly to leave you dry and cool when it's hot and warm and comfortable when it's cold. Dri-release fabrics are constructed from recycled fabrics, making them good for your ride and good for the planet.

The Cirro Windbreaker is the perfect way to prepare for changing weather conditions. Windproof, lightweight and easily stowable in your rear pocket, the Cirro ensures you’re ready to tackle the elements.

The Pachetto is a fully waterproof cycling jacket with high tech DWR coated nylon spandex outer fabric, sealed seams and a full length 2-way waterproof zip. An under-the-helmet compatible hood ensures that you are able to also keep rain away from head and neck areas.

When it’s time to stand up to the demands of Africa and her elements, make sure you’re dressed appropriately in gear from the Official Cycling Apparel Partner of the Absa Cape Epic and the Epic Series – Ciovita.
