Stand by to enter the

2025 Absa cape epic

Entries to the 2025 Absa Cape Epic open in two batches in the coming weeks. First the Lottery process opens for registration on Sunday, 17 March, and then 150 Early Bird entries go on sale on Monday, 25 March. If you want to race the twenty first edition next March this is your best opportunity.

Since its inception in 2004 every edition of the Absa Cape Epic has sold out. The introduction of limited Early Bird entries took the stress of that to new heights with those first-round entries selling out almost immediately. Every year hundreds of would-be riders are logged in to their race profiles and are ready to click enter at the exact moment when the Early Bird entries open.

Traditionally this is on the Monday after the Grand Finale. This year Early Bird entries to the 2025 Absa Cape Epic, which will take place from the 16th to the 23rd of March, open at 15:00 (CAT/UTC+2) on Monday, 25 March. There will be 150 team entries up for grabs and would-be participants have 24 hours to make a full payment in order to complete their registration for the twenty first edition.

A less stressful, but less certain way to enter the 2025 Absa Cape Epic is to sign up for the Lottery. Registration for the Lottery entries opens on Sunday, 17 March, during the 2024 race’s Prologue at Lourensford Wine Estate. The first round of Lottery draw winners will be notified of their success on Thursday, 28 March, and they will have one month to pay or forfeit their place in next year’s race.

A second round Lottery draw will take place on the 1st of June 2024 and once again the successful team will have a month to make payment for their entry. South African citizens will be able to pay for their Absa Cape Epic entries in South African Rands, while international riders will be charged an entry fee in US Dollars. The 2025 pricing will be communicated during the 2024 race.

All teams who were unsuccessful in obtaining either an Early Bird or Lottery entry will be added to the Waiting List, after the 1st of June. Should a team not complete payment, withdraw from the event or defer their entry to 2026 riders on the waiting list will be notified and will have the opportunity to take up those entries.

To speed up the registration process, particularly for teams wishing to take part in the speed race which is the Early Bird entries sale, would-be riders are encouraged to create an account in the Absa Cape Epic system. This can be done by clicking here; or by visiting www.epic-series.com/capeepic, clicking on the “Riders” tab and selecting “Rider Sign In” from the drop-down menu.

Further Absa Cape Epic entries will be available through the Epic Series Qualification programme. Entry slots, to the Absa Cape Epic, are offered via performance and a draw allocation at all Epic Series Qualifier events. Riders eager to qualify for the Absa Cape Epic can register their interest during the online registration process for an Epic Series Qualifier event. A nominal fee applies and the proceeds are donated to one of the official Absa Cape Epic Charity Partners.
